Learn to Love Change (Thursday)
On November 13, 2008 in Thought for the Day
Most organizations are stuck; they fight change instead of understanding it and using it to innovate, perform and respond. This past week’s national election has shown us that even a nation with 306 million people can change – behaviors, attitudes and opportunities. Regardless of your political affiliation, see the power in the ability to change.
Organizations must be willing to constantly change and reinvent themselves to be competitive and successful. They do this by staying informed, being connected to their world and considering all options for growth and performance. Talented employees encourage this outlook and help organizations use change to stay ahead. This week we present Learn to Love Change tips and feature Steve Farber’s book Radical Edge as our resource of the week.
Learn to Love Change tip: Start a monthly program of “raise it to a power.” Select one aspect of your business each month (product, service, policy, workplace) and have your employees raise it to a power-make it extraordinary. Consider having them read Steve Farber’s book Radical Edge to get them going.
More tips tomorrow.
